Last months makeup edit was really really edited down, particularly when it came to eye products and this proved to be really successful! I managed to work with my 3 eyeshadows I allocated and discovered how well they worked together, Yay!. I’ve tried to keep things minimal for this months edit again, along with a few new products to my stash to try throughout the month and hopefully provide reviews on soon.
- Some products won’t be rotated, this is could be because either they are HG items or I simply don’t have something to swap them out with or am wanting to finish them up.
- If i’m doing makeup for a special occasion I can dip into my regular collection, what I select for the edit is mainly for my everyday makeup.
- Products will be rotated in the beginning of the month.
- I will always note products that i’m trialling etc and let me know if you’d like a review! I’ll also link to any reviews/swatches I may have already done for any products already in the edit.
Base – A couple of new kids in here, plus a few regulars which i’m sure you’ll recognize from last month. Newbies are the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in Shade 52 Vanilla. I’m a huge fan of the serum version of this foundation and this is the original which i’ve never owned, apparently it’s been reformulated with added radiance.. I don’t know about that but so far so good!. Another new product i’m trying out is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in 010 Ivory I have been waiting for this little guy to be released because I adore the foundation in this range, this is purely an under eye concealer for me as it doesn’t provide enough coverage for any pesky blemishes I may have.
Eyes – Liner, Brow Gel & Mascara haven’t been rotated this month but I’ve added in some new eyeshadows to have a play with. First up is Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk, I can’t believe I took so long to buy this, it’s amazing on it’s own or used as a base for other shadows and i’m sure will get a lot of wear this month. L’Oreal Color Infallible Shadow in Tender Caramel I found this in a throwout bin.. are they being discontinued? It’s such a pretty neutral, shimmery, shadow and I love the colour of this. I’ve also decided to use a few of my Stila eyeshadows, i’m lazy and haven’t put these pans into a palette… reminder: need to buy a palette @ IMATS! The shades i picked are Wheat, Kitten (holy grail!) & Golightly.
Cheeks – In my quest to contour i’ve got the NYX blush in Taupe, it’s seeming to be a great beginners contour colour because it’s not too dark and scary. NYX Cream Blush in Glow is one of my absolute favourite blushes and something I reach for a lot when the weather is warming up. I also picked out Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy.. it’s longwearing and the colour is beautiful. Last but certainly not least is a cheeky birthday present from my dear friend Ange, it’s Illamasqua Cream Blush in Rude. She knows me all too well
Lips – Quite a few new buys i’m going to be wearing this month, Chi Chi Viva La Diva Matte in You Had Me At Hello really should have been in last months edit because I cheated a bit and wore it heaps…Ooops! I’ve picked up some of the new Maybelline Color Whispers in the shades – Pink Possibilities, Who Wore It Red-er, Mad for Magenta. I’m still forming an opinion on these but I know one of these colours i’m not overly impressed with . I caved and added another Rimmel Apocolips to my stash, this is the shade Nova, I figured the colours I own are pretty “out there” and I wanted one that I could wear on a day to day basis. On the same shopping trip I also got Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Funtime Fuchsia & Bourjois Color Boost in Peach on The Beach. A couple of oldie but goodies I’ve also put in the line up are Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti & Illamasqua Lipstick in Wanton.
