Red Pawpaw Grocery Subscription Box – June 2014

I’ve been wanting to incorporate more lifestyle type posts into my blog and when I received my first Red Pawpaw box today I thought… why not start with this!

Red Pawpaw is a grocery subscription box service, it costs $5/month or $60/year and you receive a monthly box filled with around $30 worth of groceries (I’ll tally it below to see how much it is actually worth). The shipping is included in the cost & it is delivered by a courier with tracking.  You will have to check on the website if they are available in your area but they seem to be shipping to most major cities in Australia.

All you have to do is complete a feedback survey each month on the items you received and if you don’t want to do that you can pay $10/month or $120/year and not have to lift a finger.

I received an email late yesterday saying my box was on it’s way and it was on my doorstep when I got home from work today – Winning!

So what was inside – Also, when you sign up you have a survey to complete which helps them determine what products to send out to you.

4 x Finish Quantum with Power Gel RRP $0.74cea ($2.96) – I don’t actually have a dishwasher so these are going to my mum 🙂

4 x Uncle Tobys Oats Quick Sachets  Creamy Honey RRP $5.50 for a box of 12 so around $1.83 for the 4 sachets… go maths & iPhone calculator lol – I love these and often buy them anyway, so definitely will be eaten!

1 x Nivia Q10 CC Cream Sample – I won’t bother trying to work the price out of this but i’ll definitely give this a go on one of my “no makeup” days.

1 x Mentos Pure Fresh Sugarfree Gum Spearmint RRP $2.19 – One for the handbag!

1 x Mentos Chews Very Berry RRP $1.43 – I’m a fan of these and sometimes like to keep a roll in my car (not that they last long). This contains my favourite Mentos flavour of Strawberry 🙂

Gravox Chargrilled Beef & Riverina Merlot Gravy RRP $3.80 – I actually bought one of these at the supermarket the other night when we had Lamb Shanks, it was a different flavour but it was tasty.

Special K Cracker Crisps Honey Barbeque RRP $4.40 – I didn’t know Special K did anything but cereal, and woah what a premium for these “healthy chips”. I will snack on these while watching my stories no doubt.

Taylors Pea & Zucchini Soup with Balsamic RRP $4.40 – One of my least liked vegetables with one of my favourite vegetables – I’m sure this would taste mostly of Pea’s (my least liked) so this is going with S for one of his lunches at work.

Adriano Zumbo Choc Raspberry Macarons RRP $8.79 – I once tried making macarons from scratch, I failed. I am determined to give this a try though and hope that I get something that doesn’t resemble flat flying saucers. I’ve tried Adriano Zumbos Brownie mix and it was tasty so hopefully this won’t disappoint.

Henry Jones & Co Fruit & Chia Mango, Passionfruit & Chia Seeds RRP $5.36 – I feel like i’m seeing Chia seeds in everything lately, i’m okay with that. This could be a nice jam on some fruity toast and that’s probably how i’ll use it. Also pretty sure this is a Woolies exclusive since that’s the only place I could find a price.

Greens Pancake Shake Buttermilk RRP $2.59 – Pass me the maple syrup & a side of bacon. This will be demolished over the weekend 🙂

Pine O Clean Disinfecting Wipes RRP $4.00 – I’m not going to lie, this was the product I was most excited about. I have a problem, I really really enjoy shopping for cleaning products. Don’t worry my house is a mess i’m not an OCD clean freak – I just freaking love cleaning products (weirdo sign over my head). These will be much welcomed to my cleaning cupboard at home.

Ovaltine Cold Crunch RRP $5.27 – Pretty sure the last time I had this brand was buying little packs of Ovaltines from the tuck shop at school. I must say i’m intrigued and kinda wanting to eat this from the jar with a spoon if it tastes like crushed up Ovaltines like i’m imagining.

The grand total value of all these products is…… $47.02

So there you have it! I’m sure i’ll be testing out and eating these products over the next month and if you’d like me to do this again i’ll be happy to come back with next months box. I’ll probably do it anyway – it’s been a fun post to write 🙂

If you’d like to try out these boxes you can subscribe via the Red Pawpaw website.

Prices nicked from the Coles & Woolworths websites at the time of writing, they may change.

I am paying for my own subscription box and Red Pawpaw have no idea i’m writing this…until I chuck it on their facebook wall if they want to have a gander!

This looks so fun! I’m sad they don’t deliver to my area. Great value, too.
