547136_10151807858756410_1546024019_nI’ve been a little absent from doing these weekly challenges of late, mainly because I haven’t been organised.. Well this week was a different story! I got playing around with my new camera and decided to get this post together. It was perfect because the day I did this look (Sunday) I was having a quiet day at home just taking photos for the blog and watching my stories… (Bates Motel…What an an effed up show, but I love it!) so an easy makeup look is all I wanted to go for anyway.

I kept things really light using a base of Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in Shade 52 Vanilla with Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory under the eyes. I also had a pesky blemish that was conveniently on the other side of my face that I covered with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light.

My eyes barely look like I did anything, but I promise I used the 2 shades on the left of my Inglot Freedom System Palette. Firstly the light beige of Inglot LF01CC then a little of Inglot LG04CP in the crease all blended out. I also got my brows in check with Australis Extender Lash & Brow Gel*. I finished off with Rimmel Scandaleyes in Black tightlined in my upper lash line & 2 coats of Maybelline The Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black.

For cheeks I used my favourite natural looking blush which is NYX Peach which if i’m honest isn’t peach in the slightest.

To finish I went a bit fancy on the lip and used Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Rivage to give my lips a “your lips but better” finish.

547136_10151807858756410_1546024019_nThis weeks challenge was “Glitter” and while I was almost going to take the easy route and do a glitter manicure (I actually did do one for Manicure Monday this week if you want to check that out). I thought “NO!” I’m doing these weekly challenges to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone with my makeup.

While the look may not be too “out there”, it’s not something i’d wear up the street to do the shopping.

I started using my favourite glittery product which is the Illamasqua Pigment in Ore, but once I’d blended it into the lid with a couple of shades from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (Bootycall & Tease) the glitter disappeared and I was left with a “shimmer”. This does not fulfil the brief (I totally got that line from my Project Runway obsession!). To bring a little more sparkle to my lids I went to the rarely touched NYX Pigments section of my makeup collection and chose one of the glitters I have in the shade “Gold” and simply wet it and pressed it on top of my black eyeliner (with an awfully done wing… I’m still practicing/perfecting that!).

The rest of my face was using products from my August Makeup Edit, except for the new kid on the block the Maybelline Color Whisper in Mad for Magenta.

547136_10151807858756410_1546024019_nThis week I joined a new makeup challenge group created by Omega. Each week is a new challenge and I’m hoping I can manage to participate in each weekly challenge and step out of my makeup comfort zone. If your an Aussie or Kiwi looking to get involved, it’s an open party! You’re welcome to join in the fun.

This week’s theme is “My Favourite Lipstick” and possibly the hardest ever question for me to answer. I had a think about my stash and what I would possibly take as a desert island shade or a shade that I own that makes me smile.

The answer was Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Melonade (and I’m terrible for using this as my fave as it’s discontinued and hard to find… sorry guys).

I kept the look pretty simple, I’ll be honest it was the makeup I wore to work and being a Monday and having a slight case of “Mondayitis” I went for the most basic of makeup looks using minimal products.  Revlon Melonade is my perfect “wake me up” shade and just brightens my face.
