bargainebaybrushes

These brushes have been showing up all over social media, first originally by the brand Artis and for quite a hefty price tag. The dupes followed appearing on Ebay & AliExpress so I thought i’d give them a shot. I didn’t feel too bad about spending $13.99AUD (including shipping) on this set to just give them a try.

Honestly, I’ve only used the first 2 brushes because I still don’t know exactly what to use the others for. The first brush I use for foundation and while you need to get used to the “sweeping” technique, it really does give a pretty flawless finish. The next brush I use for concealer in much the same way, I do find it a bit harder to blend right under the eyes so generally will go over it with my Real Techniques Sponge. If you know how I can use the smaller brushes, please let me know.

The only negative I have to say about these brushes is that sometimes the handle feels a bit flimsy and like it might snap, it hasn’t yet though and i’ve been using these brushes almost daily since I received them.

Are these good brushes? Yes!.

Would I purchase the original more expensive Artis ones? Nope, the Ebay versions will do me just fine.

If you would like to purchase off the same seller as I did Click Here. Otherwise just search on Ebay for Toothbrush Foundation Brushes / Toothbrush Makeup Brushes and heaps of options and different sets will appear. Keep in mind these do get shipped from China so sometimes shipping can take awhile (I think mine took about a month to arrive).

I recently added to my brush stash with this set off Ebay, looking very similar to the Sigmax Collection and various other brush sets i’ve noticed around the interwebs, the cheap price ($13.15 and free postage) lured me in.  You can check out the Ebay seller I used here. Just note the price could be different with exchange rates.

The collection includes 5 Synthetic Kabuki style face brushes and 5 eye brushes, you can also choose from a variety of handle colours. I picked the white because I didn’t have any white brushes in my collection and I think they look kinda cool.

So far i’ve only used 2 of the face brushes, the flat top kabuki & round top kabuki. Comparing these to my Real Techniques Buffing Brush that I use on a daily basis, well they are okay. If you’re new to makeup and building up a collection of brushes they certainly do the job. I just found that they kind of “ate” my foundation and I felt like I needed to use more then I would normally use.

In the eye brush offering i’ve only used the round eye brush, and used it similarly to how I use my Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush – to blend in my concealer. It does a good job and is very comparable to the Real Techniques version.

As mentioned before, this is a great set (and a bargain) for a beginner or if you’re just looking to beef up your brush stash with a few different types of face/eye brushes. I don’t regret my purchase and look forward to giving the angled brushes in both face and eye sets a whirl with my contour application.

I also spied a set on ebay identical to the Real Techniques brushes as well, let me know if you’d like me to grab these to do a comparison.

As most of you know one of our favourite e-tailers transdesign.com no longer ship to Australia 🙁

Being the nail polish addict I am, or recently become I’m hitting the bandwagon hard on the whole Taupe is the new Mint nail look and went in search of Mink Muffs *giggle* by Essie.

I tried ebay and found a few sellers, went for the cheapest with cheapest shipping not so much because i’m a tight ass (I can be though!) but mainly because Ebay always concerns me with sellers and authenticity etc. Mind you the seller I used had a ton of feedback but whose to say a ton of people haven’t been ripped off.

So I ordered, received my package a week later (from the US…unheard of!) and am a happy little vegemite!

Being the sharing and caring girl I am I thought i’d tell you the seller I used so if you want to have a look at what they have you can try them yourselves.

The link to their store is – http://stores.shop.ebay.com.au/Top-nail-shop

I only bought one polish so not sure of the policies on combined shipping etc but if you do find out, please let me know.

I will be doing another order with a different nail place on Ebay shortly (one that has My Private Jet because Top Nail Shop doesn’t stock it) and I will let you know how that goes as well.

I’m still rocking a mani I got last week (OPI My Private Jet, hence the need to buy it now…ahh love!) but when I enter chipsville and change to Mink Muffs *giggle* I will take pictures and let you know what I think of the Essie polish in general since it’s my first 🙂
