I attended the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo again this year (Thanks to Maxted Thomas for the hook up!), if you’re unaware of the International Spa & Beauty Expo it’s a showcase of products and services for industry professionals in the spa and beauty industry (disclaimer: professional I am not but getting a pass to this is a bit of a perk of having this old little blog). They also sell products there for a heavily discounted price and you know what that means? HAUL TIME!!!!.

The expo is also like IMATS on crack, and with me attending IMATS on Saturday (21/9/2013) I thought i’d show you what I got at the expo before I bombard you with my IMATS haul next week. I originally filmed a video for this but forgot a few bits and can’t be bothered editing it… Yep i’m a lazy biatch sometimes.

Color Club Duo in East Austin & The Uptown – I recently posted a Manicure Monday using this duo, The Uptown was love at first sight and East Austin is a real surprise! I picked this duo up for $10.00AUD

Betsey Johnson for Tweezerman Tweezers – I’ve been in need of a new set of tweezers and really regretted not picking these up last year.. pink & skulls.. hello? meant to be! I think these cost me around $18 or $19.. I can’t remember.

Skull Nail Studs – Random little skull studs to put on a manicure one day, I just got 2 to pop on an accent nail. This is nail art I could possibly handle. These were $1.00 each.

Crown Brushes – So I can miss the stand at IMATS because it’s always Chaotic (Random Sidenote: Did anyone else watch the Britney & Kevin show Chaotic? SUCH A GUILTY PLEASURE. I even have it on DVD… yep I just admitted that). Any-hooo I purchased a blending brush which I was hoping would be a dupe of the MAC 217…It ain’t 🙁 and a pencil style brush that I love using to place colour and just needed another of because I detest brush washing. I think these were around $7-8 each.

LCN Nail Polishes – Sorry I don’t have the shades here with me, they had some really pretty colours and for $4 a pop I thought i’d give two a go.. A dark grey which I thought I was lacking in my collection and a blue (a girl needs a blue in every shade humanly possible.. well this girl does anyway). You can check out there website here if you’re interested!

Lord & Berry Cream Foundation – I went to this stand to try on an amazing bright pink lipstick I spied and after the makeup artist applied it she touched up my foundation with this and as soon as she was done I decided to scrap the lippie and get the foundation. It’s glowy, feels good on the skin and is kinda almost like my absolute favourite Illamasqua Skin Base. The colour I was matched to is a little too dark for me at the moment but come summertime it should be okay. I’ve been mixing it with other lighter shades I have to get it to match me at the moment though.

Beauty Blender Set – One of my main objectives was to pick up a Beauty Blender and I saw this little set with a blender & cleanser for $26! Unboxed, but such a bargain. Can I just say.. YOU NEED THIS. My makeup has never looked so natural, except today when I went a little too heavy handed on the foundation!. I’ve tried the competitor versions of this and I can honestly say nothing compares to the original (this sounds like a paid advertisement lol).

So that’s my entire haul, I hope you’ve enjoyed it. I usually do videos for these but since it was a bit of a fail I thought i’d do it as a post instead.

Thanks again to Maxted Thomas for letting me attend 🙂 I behaved myself as best I could… Only squealed slightly when I saw Color Club 😛

This is a sponsored post for Gloss Cosmetics.

On Saturday I attended the grand opening of the new Gloss Cosmetics store in Parramatta Westfield (Shop 2154, Level 2, Westfield Parramatta).
If you love beauty and accessories, and let’s face it if your reading this blog you probably do! This store is a mecca for both, coming in at at least 4 times the size of the previous Gloss Cosmetics store it’s bright, colourful and full of shiny pretty things. The store is full of affordable brands with something for all budgets. If your a fan of BYS you will find the entire collection here including a whole aisle dedicated to their nail polishes!
One of the amazing new additions to this store is the Gloss Nail Nation nail art they are offering for customers. This will cost you $25 or FREE! If you spend over $50 in store, which really isn’t too difficult….for me anyway. You get to pick any of the 10 designs below which suit all styles and trends at the moment.
The store has an amazing range of gift packs at the moment for Christmas, so why not buy a few pressies and get a manicure while your there? It’s a win win situation for all really :).
I was lucky enough that at the store opening they were offering a free nail art design by the team from I Scream Nails in Melbourne check out their Twitter, Instagram & Facebook. Diana did my nails (who you can see below) and is one of the permanent nail artists at the Parramatta store and she was absolutely lovely! Check me out below getting mah nails did!
What design do you think I went for? It was a tough choice and since there wasn’t a choice of skulls or studs I went with the cute Watermelon design! My nails look so summery!
One of the other fun things they had at the opening was the first ever Manicam! This was a concept thought up by the Gloss team. Basically your nails walked the red carpet… such a cute idea and so much fun! I had flashbacks of those Yellow Pages ads (let your fingers do the walking). I must say my chubby fingers need a bit of runway practice; but I managed to get a little video of their debut on the red carpet.
This was only for the launch (sorry guys!) but the lovely people at Gloss did say that it could be touring other stores. I will let you know if I hear anything about that.
I also made a small purchase in store. While I was waiting in line they asked if I could remove my nail polish ready for the nail artist and handed me some nail polish wipes to do it. I was wearing the polish in my last review (China Glaze Ruby Pumps) which is a glitter. The nail polish remover wipes took the colour off, smelt amazing and kind of moisturised my cuticles! The little gem is from Be Yourself (or BYS) and comes in a variety of scents. You get 50 nail polish remover pads for $2.95… getting my own pack was a no brainer!
So if your around Parramatta Westfield be sure to check out the new Gloss Cosmetics store and have a fun nail art manicure!

Thanks Gloss Cosmetics for inviting me to be a part of this fun event!

I was recently invited to attend a fashion show and sit front row (wowza!) as part of 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty. The show presented by Revlon Top Speed was all about the springs hottest upcoming trend, colour blocking! Now i’m no fashion blogger and still don’t think i deserve front row at a fashion show but I do know one thing. The colour blocking trend is hot! Not so sure I could pull it off myself but see below for my own personal way of colour blocking…kind of 🙂

Now I did my blogger duty and took photos at the fashion show but guess what, my camera had a bitch fit and i’ve lost the photos 🙁

Instead I have my own version of colour blocking and some pretty rad coloured polishes from Revlon to show you instead.

Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamels in - Sheer Cotton, Chili, Electric, Royal & Jelly

I found these polishes did live up to the name and were a quick dry polish, great news for girls on the go! I found the formula to Sheer Cotton needs a few coats to build up but if you enjoy sheer polishes it would be fine for you, I also found this one was a little streaky whereas all the other applied really smoothly and easily for me. Faves are definitely Chili & Jelly and Electric is a bit of fun!

Now ready for my colour block/skittle mani!

Now you can get your hands (haha get it?) on a free manicure and possibly a free bottle of nail polish! FREE!!

The Revlon Top Speed Glam Vans are making their way around Sydney see below for details! If you do manage to get along i’d love to see your mani, maybe they’ll do a skittle mani for you 🙂

I was lucky enough to be invited by PolkaDot PR to attend a blogger event for the hair accessories brand Scunci… Thursday afternoon lunch with wine? I was so in!

10 lucky beauty bloggers got to hang out and have a delicious lunch, have a gossip and drink wine and hear about the hair accessory brand Scunci.

Scunci is a brand I have always had on my radar, I love their metal-less snagless hair ties especially because i’m a no fuss girl when it comes to my hair, and if it’s a bad hair day (75% of the time it is a bad hair day) my hair is in a ponytail. So decent hair ties are always a must for me! Plus i’m always losing them, not sure how?

We were lucky enough to also be given a goodie bag at the event with a bag of Scunci items to try out, I’ve only had a chance to use one thing so far but I can already tell this is going to be a must buy for me from now on!

The evolution hair ties are a kind of silicone, rubber hair tie but boy do they stay put in your hair! Plus when you remove them you don’t take a chunk of hair with the tie. They also feel durable and I feel like i’ll get quite a bit of use out of one before I need to go onto a new one. The Evolution hair ties retail for $7.50AUD for a pack of 14.

Now onto photos from the event, my photos didn’t turn out great so I apologize for that and I also didn’t get many pictures of the bloggers who attended! BAD BLOGGER PHOTOGRAPHER I AM! 🙂

Thank you so much to Scunci and PolkaDotPR (in particular Beau) the day was so much fun!

It was also great putting some faces to the names I chat to on Twitter and Blogs I read daily 🙂
