I’m going to try and do this kind of post more often, a bit of a quick one noting down some initial thoughts on some products that are in my “on trial” basket at home. They may get a more indepth review at a later stage, feature in a favourites or disappointing products (eep!) and hopefully empties!

L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfection BB Cream RRP $24.99AUD – The Skin Perfection range is new to the L’Oreal skincare lineup, featuring magpie inducing pink packaging the range is aimed at those in their 20’s. While i’m not so much in my 20’s anymore I was drawn to the packaging and the images of Blake Lively gracing the stand (she’s gorgeous isn’t she!).

I’ve only given this one shot so far, mainly because I like to use BB creams on the weekend when I’m just hitting up the shops or running the usual domestic errands. The coverage is light (to be expected with a BB cream) and it felt hydrating enough for my skin. I did add a bit of powder to keep things in place and give a tad more coverage. So far this is a good-un but like mentioned before will mostly only be bought out on weekends when i’m doing the no makeup, makeup thing.

Face of Australia High Definition Primer RRP $13.95AUD – My love of the original FOA Face Base Primer has been well documented on my blog and youtube channel. So when this new one hit the shelves and my current tube of primer was nearing the end I thought I’d try it out. I mean HD means I should look flawless right? I’m on the fence about this one and think it needs some more trialling before I come to a decision about it. I will mention if you do try this out remember to shake the tube each time before use, I made that mistake yesterday and it was a runny mess. Also try not to use too much product, I made this mistake on my first use and my foundation balled up and looked very very average. It reminds me a lot of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (for reference, I did not get along with this primer at all). If you’re a fan of that this might be up your alley. To be continued…

Manicure Monday Festive Series will be live every Monday in December. Simple and easy looks to get you through the festive season… by someone who isn’t that great at nail art! Enjoy!

Ahhh So I decided to do a “series” on the blog and here is the first part. I enjoy painting my nails…all the time, but especially in the festive season because I can go a little glitter crazy. So I thought each Monday through December I would bring you a festive nail look that you can easily try yourself, or just look at. Whichever floats your boat.

Look #1 is super easy, just using 2 colours. I’ve been wanting to pair the Face of Australia Midnight Fireworks (from the current Carnivale collection) with a nude since I got it so that’s where I got the idea for this first look. The other great thing is this is a combo you can easily wear into the office because the glitter isn’t too obvious.

All I did was paint all my nails nude with Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polish in Always Naked and waited for it to try before placing some tape to make a crisp diagonal section (you could do this free hand but i’m not that steady handed). I then carefully painted Face of Australia Midnight Fireworks on the tip. Removed the tape and added a top coat. SIMPLE! This idea can be used with so many different colours and textures, and best of all… It’s pretty fool proof. Enjoy!

foacarnivaleI’ll be honest, I wasn’t going to bother with this collection but then a Saturday in Priceline with an urge to buy something and not too many new releases saw me pick up 2 polishes from this new collection. My main reason? I’m not a huge fan of the whole textured nail polish trend… I think sometimes it looks okay but other times your nails look diseased (yep I’m weird like that).

I chose the glitter shades of Midnight Fireworks (gold with a tonne of glitter including tiny silver glitters) & Ferris Wheel (a gorgeous blue with small silver glitters throughout). FYI I did put a coat of top coat on and that made no difference to the effect (Honestly, my dinner was ready and I needed these babies to dry before my HANGRY-NESS took over).

Sooooo basically i’m throwing my hands in the air and admitting defeat because I kinda love these! While they have that gritty texture that i’m not a fan of the effect on these is actually sort of awesome. In the sunlight they glitter like a mofo and I wish I had timed my photos better and gotten pics of that but trust me, they look amazing in the sunlight.

Also another shocking point to note is that I am kind of digging the gold shade, never ever in my life have I been a gold nail polish kinda gal but I can see this one gracing my fingers for the upcoming festive mani season.

Did you notice the bottles are different to the rest of Face of Australias polish offerings? They do look eerily similar to the Picture Polish bottles but hey, a change is as good as a holiday and with FOA not wowing me of late with their releases these newly designed and very on trend polishes are a welcomed addition to my stash.

You can find Face Of Australia at Priceline, Kmart & Big W and these polishes are available for RRP $5.95AUD. BARGAIN!

If you want to see swatches of the entire collection check out the post my lovely friend Chelle did for the Face Of Australia Blog 🙂

I’ve been craving bright blue nails all week, I have no idea why but i’m strange like that.

I haven’t picked up this Face Of Australia nail colour in Ocean Villa for awhile and it is the most beautiful bright almost cobalt blue, and guess what? It’s now part of Face of Australias permanent range! The bottle is in the normal FOA nail polish bottles, my version is from the Luxe collection.
I could have left it with just this gorgeous colour but I decided to add a bit of sparkle to my ring finger on each hand and for this I used OPI Last Friday Night from the Katy Perry collection. It doesn’t really show up because I only did a very light coat but oh well it’s a tiny bit of sparkle :).
OPI retails for $19.95AUD in Australia and this colour is still available to purchase from Adore Beauty.
Face of Australia is available at department stores and Priceline and nail polish retails for $6.95AUD you can also purchase these online from Fashion Addict & Makeup Express.

This was uploaded to YouTube awhile ago but I thought i’d also do a little matching blog post as well! Here are the things I was loving in January –

Nature’s Way Multi-Vitamin – VitaGummies – RRP $22.95AUD
I hate swallowing tablets and have you seen the size of regular multi vitamins? Nah Uh! These are like a little treat twice a day and are beneficial for you. I’ll be honest the after taste is freakin rancid but I can deal.
MAC Creme Blush (Now known as Cremeblend) – Ladyblush – RRP $41.00AUD
This is an old favourite of mine and the old formula. I haven’t tried the new ones to see if they are any different but I love this! However for a cheaper option check out the NYX Cream Blushes, for the price they are amaaaaaze.
Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder – Natural – RRP $11.40AUD
Go buy this now! This stuff is an absolute bargain and gives the most natural finish. It also has a little coverage so I find it nice over my tinted moisturisers/BB creams I wear on weekends. It also photographs well (must for any beauty blogger). This has been likened as a dupe for the MAC Studio Fix powder, I used to use MAC Mineralize Skin Finish and thought that was the bomb.com but this baby is my new holy grail.
OPI Nail Lacquer – Samoan Sand – RRP $19.95AUD
I never thought i’d be into nude polishes, but after Chelle recommend this to me I feel I might sway towards more nudes. Looks amazing on my pale skin and is such a nice base for gradient nails/nail features etc.
Urban Decay Naked 2 – Tease – Unavailable in Australia but you can purchase from http://www.beautybay.com
I don’t really need to say much because most people own this palette. I’m loving Tease at the moment in my crease, it’s such a gorgeous taupe that leans towards purple and brings out my blue eyes.
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids – RRP $16.95AUD
You might want to check out my review and then go and try these. Since then I’ve also managed to pick up another 2 colours (hooked!). I’ll post swatches etc on here soon because I know these are going to be popular lippies, I want them all!!
Too Faced Foil Liner – Black Beauty – (I don’t think this is available in Australia anymore 🙁 )
This is my go-to waterline liner, it stays put and is a very black black. I’ve been lining my upper waterline and the difference it makes to my eyes is amazing. I do want to try the Urban Decay liner in Perversion so once this one goes to the beauty box in the sky i’ll try that next.
Face of Australia Face Base Primer – RRP $11.95AUD
I’ve been getting into primers again of late and have found this really moisturises my dry skin and helps my foundation glide on smoothly. This is always a staple in my makeup collection and I think will be forever (unless they change the formula and it’s shit).
Royal & Langnickel Green Line Powder Brush*
I only recently cracked open my set of green line brushes from ABBW… yeah over a year later! I can’t wait to try the others because this powder brush is perfection. I use it to apply my Fresh & Flawless powder.
Also feel free to check out my video below for a visual of me talking about the same thing!
Hope you’ve enjoyed my January favourites, I’m really going to try and do these monthly as I am a fan of reading/watching them myself.
What did you love last month? Anything I should try for February? (even though it’s halfway over!)

*products marked with a * were provided for my consideration. I am always honest in my reviews.
