The other day when I filmed my latest YouTube haul I thought i’d film getting ready beforehand and do a bit of a tutorial/look… no not tutorial, you won’t learn anything new.

The main product featured is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, I was playing around with this the other night and rediscovered my love for it. I also used a lot of the new products I mentioned in the haul, so if you want to see them in action go and give it a watch.

This video has taken me the longest to edit out of any i’ve ever done, I even did a voice-over! So i’d love it if you gave it a watch, liked it and maybe subscribe if you aren’t already.

This was a recent look I did for filming some videos, I tend to beef up the coverage when I’m filming since the lights wash me out a bit.

I used a combination of L’Oreal True Match Foundation in Shade N2 & Illamasqua Skin Base in Shade #5 for my base. The I used Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory to highlight under my eyes, down my nose and on my chin (this is a standard for me). Contouring was done with NARS Laguna and I highlighted the tops of my cheekbones with TheBalm Mary Loumanizer (which is smashed and needs repairing!).

I decided to go a bit heavier on the eyebrows by using my Make Up Forever Aqua Brow in Shade 10 (Light Blonde) and setting them with Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium. For my eyes I used a combination from one of my favourite eyeshadow sets the NARS Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo (I love both these shades, separately…together…any which way.) Mascara was the Be Essentials Volumising Mascara. I have a review of this coming up soon.

My cheeks have very rarely been without Tarte 12 Hour Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy for these past 2 months so using this was a no brainer. I also dusted over the new Models Prefer Soft Touch Mineral Powder in Soft Focus, this is a total dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and although I don’t own them to compare completely I am absolutely loving this one from Models Prefer.

Another product that has not really left my face much lately (particularly on weekends) is this Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in Shade 110, unfortunately we didn’t get this shade in Australia but I ordered mine from ASOS and it’s amazing!

I planned to do a series of FOTD posts and never got past The Face #1 and since I couldn’t think up a snappier title for this post I decided i’ll try and continue the series.

I look like such a happy clam in this picture right… nope not at all! Also…Spot the sloths!

This face was done a couple of Sundays ago, our washing machine wasn’t working so I went to a laundromat wearing this look and feeling a little overdone. I was also clearly in need of a hair wash & our hot water wasn’t working as well so I had to go to the gym to have a shower and wash my hair #firstworldproblems. All is good now in the world of hot showers and washing machines!

I wanted to try out a few new products i’d picked up over the past couple of months that hadn’t really gotten much use. For my base I used NARS Sheer Glow in the shade Deauville, this might sound a little controversial but i’m not sure that I like this foundation very much. I’m going to give it a few more chances before it features in a Disappointing Products video or post but so far, not getting the hype. I concealed & highlighted with my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory and did a little contouring (give me cheek bones and no double chin) with NARS Laguna Bronzer – I’ve been loving this again lately, it seems to warm up my complexion. NYX Peach Blush was used on the cheeks and will forever be a favourite of mine, and I feel like it’s never ending because I use it so much but still haven’t hit pan!

On my eyes I can’t remember exactly which shades I used but it looks like I used the neutrals (naturally) from TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Palette. The shadows are buttery and easy to blend, I get a little chalkiness from the lightest shade Matt Smith but other then that the shades i’ve used so far have been great (I’m actually wearing Matt Gallagher in my crease today for a bit of definition/I can’t be bothered doing full eye makeup today). I lined my eyes using the Essence 2 in 1 Eyeliner Pen, I picked this up because it had a thin nib on one end and the other end was a little thicker and slanted, the pigmentation on this isn’t fantastic and I feel like I need to push down quite hard to get colour. I then coated my lashes with the Essence LashMania Reloaded Mascara.

For my brows I bought out an old favourite the Benefit Brows A Go Go Palette* and then set them in place with the Benefit GimmeBrow in Light/Medium. Yes, it is as amazing as the reviews say!

Lips! This is my new Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip Cream in Crush – Look at that colour! I’m not going to say too much because I have a review and proper swatches etc coming of this soon 🙂

I would like to try and do more of these because it’s a good way to give mini reviews of some products that I can’t/haven’t done full reviews on.

I now have the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette in my hands, and can I just say the hype is worth it.

If you are a previous owner of the other 2 Urban Decay Naked offerings (I don’t really bunch “Basics” in with these) then you will find an additional 12 unique shades to play with in this palette.

I’m not going to go into shade descriptions and all that jazz, you can read about eleven billion other blogs doing that.

I’ve used mine a couple of times now and have loved the outcome. So far my favourite shade of the bunch is Factory and my least favourite is Dust, however I found it’s a great shade to use to layer over other shadows for a bit of sparkle. I also love the 3 matte shades included and find they are totally unique to my collection (in particular Limit & Nooner).

I’m a fan of the packaging, I love the rose gold look to it and the fact that it is nice and sturdy and the brush included is actually of decent quality (unlike most brushes included in palettes which tend to make their way to my bin).

This is a look I did recently using the Naked 3, I can’t remember what shades I used and think I just kept adding to it to get a good try of a few shades. I think these shades work really well with my eye colour!

Now, how can you buy this if you are in Australia? I have a couple of options for you!

Look Fantastic – This is where I pre-ordered my UD Naked 3 palette. This was the first time I had used this site but reviews were great so I jumped in and ordered it. Product arrived approximately a week after they notified me it had been shipped, it turned up on my doorstep packaged well and I have no complaints! I keep getting discount emails from this site (like daily, which can be annoying) but I think I will keep them in mind for my future UD purchases, particularly if I can get a discount! Also shipping is free, always a major plus. (Note: This is currently sold out on the site, however you can put your name down to be notified when it is in stock).

Beauty Bay – They have been stocking this on and off (when it’s on the site) Unlike Look Fantastic you can’t put your name down to be notified when it’s back in stock (well not that I could find anyway). I’ve ordered from Beauty Bay multiple times and have never had an issue. Their customer service online is great and I love the fact they show the prices in $AUD. Again, free shipping! (Note: Currently not on the site, keep checking though it does make an appearance from time to time).

I’m looking forward to playing with this a bit more and seeing what looks I can create. Do you have the Naked 3? Do you love it?

These posts are basically my FOTD but I wanted to give them a different name. Let’s be honest I cant be bothered being creative with every FOTD title name so The Face #whatever is now born.
Today’s “The Face” is my pretty much everyday look for work of late, the items used are from this months Makeup Edit except for the lipstick.. I kinda cheated a little on that one and used a newie from my recent haul.
I start off by mixing up Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Shade Buff with Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Shade 100 . I then added the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer under the eyes, I need this because i’ve been exhausted lately and a bit of brightness under the eyes makes me look more alive.
I then added a slick of the middle shade in the Natio Soft Day Palette this is a nice taupey colour and works well blended out on its own. Almost poked my eye out with the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal in Black applying it to the upper waterline. Tamed my brows with the Australis Extender Lash & Brow* and added a couple of coats of Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara.
Next up was a bit of colour to brighten my face in the form of Stila Convertible Colour in Lillium. A quick powder with Australis Fresh & Flawless powder in Natural. To finish off I put a light coat of Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie on the lips, this shade can get quite dark but since I am going to work I wanted to keep it subtle.
