If you saw my previous post, I was talking about my shopping list for the Priceline 40% off cosmetics sale (sadly, now over). I didn’t end up getting everything on my list and subbed out a few things.

I actually had more in my basket but then told myself, do I really NEED another matte mauvey brown lipstick (Covergirl Katy Kat Matte in Catoure). It actually turns out my instinct to not get it was spot on because they are now 1/2 price this week.

So here are the products I did actually end up getting –

L’Oreal True Match Foundation in N2 – This was on my list and luckily the stand was pretty well stocked and I got my shade. I’m wearing it today and so far am really really happy with it!

Sensationail Gel Polish in Sugar Plum & Heirloom Lilac – I originally had the Opallac gel polishes on my list to go with my Opallac kit, but I saw these on clearance for $7.00 and the bargain hunter in me decided to go with these instead. It looks like they are discontinuing this line so good idea to stock up (I may try and grab more this weekend at this price). I didn’t get the 40% discount on these but they were cheap enough.

Maybelline Master Strobing Stick in 200 Medium – Impulse purchase alert! I swatched this on my hand and thought it was such a nice subtle highlight that I could chuck under my foundation (or over). I got the shade 200 Medium because it was goldy and the lighter shade was more pinky. I’ve discovered recently that goldy highlighters definitely suit me more. Another product i’m wearing today and really like, I usually go for a bit more BAM with my highlighter but this is just a nice subtle glow.

Essence Make Me Brow in Blondey Browns – This was on my list and so damn cheap! Wearing it today and can definitely see how people compare it as a good dupe to the Benefit Gimmebrow (at a fraction of the price).

Maybelline Volume Express Colossal The Big Shot Mascara – I love trying the new Maybelline mascaras, I’m going to give this a week or 2 before I give a verdict because I like my mascaras to dry out a bit but so far it gave me a bit of volume and length so yay!.

Essence Satin Blush in Satin Love – This was an on the whim purchase. I’ve been steering clear of my regular coral blushes and moving towards more nude/mauve/rosey blushes and this fit the bill. I wore it today and holy pigmentation! I went a touch overboard and had to get some intense buffing in to get away from clown territory eeeeek!. The shade however, is pretty but next time i’ll be not so heavy handed.

Essence Matt Touch Blush in Rose Me Up! – Again, another blush in the colour family i’m currently drawn to. This is a pretty matte blush and looked pretty subtle when swatched. Looking forward to trying it out.

That’s it for another Priceline sale! (well until theres a good catalogue sale lol). I still had a voucher from christmas so put this towards my purchase and ended up only spending $35 of my own money.

Did you pick anything up in the sale?

Oh my! It’s been a hot minute since I uploaded a video, this was actually filmed back in February when it was summer, hot and my hair super flat. I’ve had it sitting in my to edit folder for so long and after filming a couple of videos this weekend I thought I better get it out there before these new ones hit.

These are the goodies I picked up while in the US of A, including some thoughts on IMATS LA and what I bought there. Hope you enjoy, I think I may have gotten the YouTube bug back again this weekend.

A couple of weekends ago I was lucky enough to attend the Sydney Beauty Expo, this is an expo for those working in the beauty industry like salon owners etc. There are loads of informative talks, seminars and new release products to check out. There are also a lot of products for sale at a reduced price (think IMATS but with a whole lot more skincare, nails etc). I’ve attended the past few years and it’s always a great day out.

This year I only bought a couple of items, I had really only one thing on my wishlist to get and that was a Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick, so much so that I spent an hour in the morning watching swatch videos on YouTube trying to decide which colour to pick. I’d settled on Celebrity Skin (a darker nude, brown colour with a little bit of peach in it. Also a great song by Hole). We found them at the ModelRock Lashes stand and the kicker was they were selling them for $27AUD (They sell for $28 on their website for your reference) and had no testers… UGH! After a bit of deliberation with Ange and finally deciding that yes we would buy one each, I got Celebrity Skin. I also picked up a few pairs of lashes which were down to $3.95AUD each and one set was only $1.95AUD plus a tiny tube of lash glue. I’m really wanting to try this whole lash thing again.

Isn’t the colour stunning, I love it! The formula is also great and it lasts really well on the lips. I’m keen to get my hands on some more of these (I’m thinking IMATS LA).

Then we hit up the Girlee Cosmetics stand and decided to make a 4 pan palette ($25AUD). I’ve made one of these previously and have some swatches etc in this post here from IMATS 2012. I’ve really been into the warmer shaded shadows of late and the colours I chose in the palette really reflect this, I haven’t had a chance to wear these shades yet but going off experience from my other Girlee Cosmetics shadows they are fantastically pigmented, smooth and easy to blend.

I’m so pleased with my choices and can’t wait to have a play around with some eye looks with them, I even think I could also use Honey Glow as a highlighter.

Looking forward to hitting up the expo again next year and seeing what I come home with!

Colourpop Cosmetics Haul ProductsI’ve finally photographed my haul from Colourpop I did a couple of months ago and now i’ve had a good play around with the products can safely say, they are awesome and you need them in your life. The price point is amazing with all the lip products and eyeshadows priced at $5USD and the cheek products priced at $8USD. The only thing you will find is that international shipping is a little on the pricey side. I just checked my order notes and the shipping was $28.30USD for 17 products (I did an order with Ange). The products only took 2 weeks to arrive as well which I think is pretty quick. I am definitely ordering again 🙂

I’ll start with the non-lip products because the lip products make up the majority of my haul.

Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow in Bandit This is a beautiful rusty brown colour and is a matte eyeshadow. I’ve been applying this with a synthetic brush in my crease and it makes my blue eyes pop. Colourpop do suggest using your fingers with their formula but I find a brush works fine. The texture of these eyeshadows is a little strange as they feel sort of bouncy & creamy yet they finish on the eye in a matte powder finish. I really want to order more of the shadows in my next haul.

Colourpop Super Shock Cheeks in Between The Sheets The cheek products were fairly new when I made my order so I knew I had to try one. I’ve had the Tarte Amazonian Cheek Colour in Exposed on my wishlist for awhile now and thought i’d try and find a dupe of that. A few websites said Between The Sheets is a good alternative. I don’t own Exposed so I can’t compare them side by side but I love this neutral beige-y pink shade and have worn it almost everyday since I got it, not even kidding.

Colourpop Super Shock Cheek Between The Sheets, Supershock Eye BanditSo the lip products is where I really went a little crazy, my initial list was much much longer but I thought I would cut it down a bit just in case I wasn’t a huge fan of the products. Jury is in and i’m a huge fan! I love the formula’s of both the Lippie Pencils and the Lippie Stix. The Lippie Stix come in a few different types of finishes but I got 4 mattes and 1 satin (which look pretty matte to me anyway). I’ll just do a brief rundown of what I got and their shade descriptions, followed by swatches on the lips.

Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix Swatches

Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Tootsi (Matte) – This is one of those newer colours coming in that are kind of grey/beige toned. Honestly, I don’t really think this looks very good on me but I’m glad I tried it out anyway. P.S. I spelt Tootsi wrong in my pictures, I should have consulted the website first. Oops!Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix Tootsi Swatch

Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Lumiere (Matte) This is my most worn shade from my haul, it’s very wearable everyday and the colour suits me well. It’s a dusty mauvey pink shade that was a collaboration between Colourpop and KathleenLights. I’m definitely getting the matching lip pencil for this in my next order.Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix Lumiere Swatch

Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Flawless (Satin) As you will see with the swatches above, I also have this in the Lippie Pencil which is an exact match for the lip colour. Flawless is described as a deep red violet and I think that’s pretty spot on. It’s quite a bright purple shade that I think just lights up the face. Love it!Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix Flawless Swatch

Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in LBB (Matte) Ahhhhh this is my favourite from the bunch, and was funnily enough the one I thought would be least interesting. I think this shade is a good dupe for Rebel by MAC, it’s certainly within that shade family. Kind of a deep raspberry shade with a teeny hint of purple. This one is also a stayer! I can wear this for hours without the need for a touch up. It’s very similar to Flawless but does lean more on the red side.Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix LBB Swatch

Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Bichette (Matte) Of course I had to add a red to my haul, I decided to go with a darker red shade since we were coming into Winter here I thought i’d get more wear. Plus, I already own so many brighter red shades (I may get one in my next order though). I also got the matching Lippie Pencil with this one because I figured I could use it with some of the reds I already own. Bichette is a stunning deep red and honestly you just need to see it. I wore this out with the Lippie Pencil to my hens night and it didn’t budge!Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix Bichette Swatch

That’s the haul! Now i’m starting to look at the Colourpop Cosmetics website and making a new wishlist… very dangerous!

Have you ordered from Colourpop before or do you think you may?

Also, if you’re interested I did a video on the haul and showed the Lippie Stix being applied if you wanted to have a look.

If you live in Australia you’d know the amount we pay for MAC makeup is ridiculous, especially considering how much cheaper it is in the States. I decided to do this little haul as a birthday present to myself (or from my dogs, which is how I justified it).

I used a mail forwarding company called Ship It To and they were fantastic! You don’t actually pay them any fee’s (I think they may be included in the shipping price though). They have multiple US addresses you can ship your products to, and they give you a huge range of shipping options once your package reaches the warehouse and they all vary in price.

The process was so smooth and easy that i’ll definitely be using them in the future with my other purchases, they also provide an assisted shopping service as well for stores that don’t accept Australian payments (cough cough Sephora).

Now to get to the MAC online store, even if you put maccosmetics.com it will default to the .au Australian store, when it does this just delete the .au and you’ll be in the US site. As for payment options I actually used my PayPal account and added in the US address given to me by Shipito so I had no issues with them not accepting my payment.  Also it’s free shipping from MAC to the US address so you don’t need to worry about that as an additional cost.

My goodies!

I picked up a 15 pan palette & insert, 5 eyeshadows from top – Satin Taupe, All That Glitters, Patina, Soft Brown, Wedge, 3 lipsticks – Rebel, Patisserie, Impassioned (finally!!). I also received a free mini sample of the Zoom Lash Mascara.

The Savings… I’m sure this is the bit you’re most interested to hear about right? This is a breakdown of the cost in US dollars along with a conversion, and the Australian prices.

That’s a whopping total savings of $127.52!

Keep in mind $ conversions etc are at the time of me writing this post and may change at any time. However, i’m sure you can see the benefit.

I’m sure i’ll still visit the MAC counters here to swatch goodies and occasionally buy the one off product but I think seeing how great the savings are ordering from the US it’s how i’ll be doing my shopping from now on.

I also did a quick video on YouTube showing my haul if you’d like to have a squizz at that as well.
