The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm’s form part of the Revlon Colorburst Balm range featuring mattes, lacquers and the original kissable balm stains. Being a matte lip lover and loving the original balm stain formula, I knew these would be for me.

My collection started with 2 and very quickly grew to 5. The shades I own are Elusive, Audacious  Unapologetic, Shameless, Striking & Standout; and i’m not going to say there won’t be others joining the pack because I already have my eye on one or two shades more.

All of the balms are beautiful but do require a little bit of lip prep to get them looking nice on the lips which is the case with most matte lippies. I probably could have taken on my own advice when I did these swatches since my lips weren’t in tip top condition as you’ll see.

I will mention the only real problem child in my bunch is unfortunately the amazing purple toned Shameless – the others seem to work really well but this one just applies patchy on me :(. My pick of the bunch is surprisingly one of my newer additions, Striking. It’s such an easy to wear red and quite similar to the discontinued Revlon Matte Lipstick in Strawberry Suede.

Update – I fail at life and this is why I shouldn’t do my posts late at night, below the picture I’ve marked as Audacious is actually Unapologetic….OOPS! I don’t even own Audacious!

Have you tried the matte balms and what should I pick up next? I’ve looked at the lacquer version as well but none of them really stood out to me.

You can pick these up from all the usual Revlon retailers and keep an eye out for when Chemist Warehouse do 50% off, that’s always a good time to grab a couple.

Over the past few months i’ve slowly added to my collection of Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains (JBKBS for short). I have another 4 to share with you today, and I’m not going to say this is the last your going to see of these on my blog. I frickin’ love them and already have another 2 shades on my wish list (Lovesick & Honey FYI). I previously reviewed Darling & Sweetheart. Check that post out for more details about the wear etc of the JBKBS’s.

The new shades i’ve picked up are Rendevous (finally available in Australia!), Romantic, Smitten & Crush (also new to Australia).

Crush was picked up after I did the other swatches, so the photo is a bit different with different lighting etc and not a great example of the colour (blogger fail!).

My pick of the bunch is Smitten, I picked this up on a whim to be honest and it’s turned out to be one of my most used lip colours in my collection of the past few months.

These babies retail for $17.95AUD, but at the time of writing this they are currently available at Priceline for $10.00AUD a pop until 29th July 2013.

What colours have you tried and loved?

I just love it when a product creates hype on various social media networks, I love the thrill of waiting for the product to hit the shelves and checking my local outlets waiting for the product to rear it’s ugly/or beautiful head. To me this is exciting!
One of my latest acquisition was just like that, I eventually found this on a weekend away in Canberra. It was also on sale, so bonus!
The Face of Australia Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons are not only a beautiful product, but an absolute steal! $14.95AUD for 3 wearable colours, this little set certainly won’t break the bank and is a great introduction into the lip crayon products we’ve been seeing from all different brands.
They are smooth, tinted and smell delicious!
I also love the fact the packaging is a wind up applicator, I’m not a fan of the gloss crayons you need to sharpen… I don’t get how that works anyway?
The 3 shades in the set are –
Sundae – Neutral, I thought I’d dislike this shade the most out of the 3, but in fact it’s my favourite! I find this to be the most pigmented on my lips and is such a great everyday shade.
Macaron – A Red tint, gives the lips a nice flushed colour. I love these sort of colours, I feel they always brighten up my look.
Cupcake – Light pink, such a cute bubblegum pink. I personally like brighter pinks but this is still cute and would look awesome with a dark smokey eye.
Be quick because these sets are limited edition! I’m kind of hoping they bring them out again in more colours…brights for summer would be amazing (FOA take note!).
Face of Australia is stocked at Priceline, Kmart, Big W & Various Chemists. International readers can also purchase Face of Australia online at Fashion Addict, however I couldn’t see these on the website just yet.
This product was purchased with my own money, obviously since I went searching in another state for it 😛

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

First of all I want to wish everyone a wonderful 2012, I’m hoping to try and be a little more consistant with my posts this year and try and get back into the swing of things as much as possible. I don’t really believe in new years resolutions, I feel goal setting should be something you do all year but I do want to try and concentrate on my blog again.. I’m coming up to 2 years this month!

ONTO THE REVIEW!

I actually got a sneak peek of this lipstick back in September at the ABBW (Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend) and as soon as I saw it I knew as soon as it hit the shelves I needed it in my collection, well I’m not sure I got it as soon as it hit the shelves but I did get it as soon as i saw it.

Malibu Barbie is part of the Lip Quench range of lipsticks from Face of Australia. A lipstick range which not only provides a smack of colour but also provides some pretty rad lip treatment qualities as well (Double the win!) It contains Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E, Shea butter and SPF 30+.. Yep, SPF 30+ seriously bright and protected lips!

The colour of this lipstick is what really gets me, the name says it all Malibu Barbie is a bright cool toned pink it really is the ultimate Barbie pink, it’s a gorgeous pop of colour that instantly brightens the face. I personally love colours like this because I feel like I don’t have to do a whole lot else with my makeup, keeping it simple and making this sort of lip colour the focus is how I like to wear it.

In fact I wore it last night for New Years Eve!

Ready for some swatchy goodness? My lips are a bit dry in this picture, so the moisturizing properties of this lipstick were kind of perfect.

The Details!

RRP $9.45AUD

You can purchase this product from Priceline, Department Stores and various Chemists. Face of Australia products can also be purchased online from Fashion Addict.

Yesterday I mentioned how I was trying to go through my backlog of swatches etc I did yonks ago, well here is another!

Firstly, I apologize but this lippie isn’t readily available at the usual Revlon stockists I believe it was a limited edition but it certainly is available on Ebay for a couple of bucks!

I first saw this lipstick on one of Cami Loves Kiwi’s videos (check out her channel, she is awesome!) and while our colourings may not be similar the colour was just so beautiful I wanted to have it in my collection. It’s just the most gorgeous deep raspberry colour and so perfect for winter, It needed to be mine.

So you can imagine my excitement while out on a trip to Paddy’s Markets with the boyfriend looking for Transformers accessories for his car, I made him stop to look at the beauty stands which generally sell discontinued items pretty cheap and there it was amongst a bunch of other Revlon lippies.. CHERRIES IN THE SNOW!! wheeeeeeeeeee! So I hauled ass to the sales person and paid my $7 for it, yep $7!

So here it is in all it’s glory! There is also a matching nail polish as well but I do think that is a permanent item with Revlon.
